Riverfront Lodges in the Wilds of Patagonia
Along with the wide variety of fly fishing, you’ll also enjoy two distinct lodge settings. Set in the heart of the region’s Valdivian rainforest, Rio Yelcho Lodge is a riverside collection of casitas with wood-burning stoves and private bathrooms, plus glacier views, an outdoor hot tub, and a sauna. Further south is Rio Rosselot Lodge, a spacious home base with private rooms, bathrooms, wraparound decks, and a hot tub.

Seasonal Weather Patterns and Fishing Conditions
Here’s generally what to expect throughout Martín Pescador’s summer season, which runs from January through the end of March.
Early Season (January)
Come for the famous dragonfly hatch, when large trout jump and can then be targeted with dries. With higher water and aggressive trout, eeling, dry dropper rigs, and throwing streamers are also effective.
Mid-Season (February)
Warmer weather, stable water levels, and insect hatches mean peak dry fly season. Suspended trout in eddies will be rising to mayflies, caddis, and terrestrials.
Late-Season (March)
Trout become aggressive as they prepare for winter, making this prime time for targeting trophy browns. Dry fly fishing also continues to be effective, especially on warmer days.

Enjoy a variety of local wine, classic pisco sours, and Patagonian beers, plus a traditional asado BBQ experience.

With this much remote water, we have an impressive range of watercraft to get you on even the hardest to reach stretches. From mostly inaccessible streams to bigger whitewater sections, our equipment can handle it all. Expect jet boats, catarafts, whitewater rafts, lake boats, and top-of-the-line SUVs and trucks for off-property transportation.

Gavin Bramstedder Griffin—known as Griffin—is a Fly-Fishing Guide at Eleven’s Martín Pescador Lodge. With a decade of full-time guiding experience, he brings deep river knowledge, humility, and a genuine love for sharing meaningful moments on the water with guests.
Jose "Pepe" Cuadrado Fernandez
Jose “Pepe” Cuadrado is the Lodge Manager at Martin Pescador Lodge. Originally from Spain, he’s passionate about sharing the raw beauty of Patagonia and delivering world-class guest experiences.

Getting Here
Recommended Route
- Take a commercial flight into Santiago, Chile (SCL)
- Fly from Santiago to Puerto Montt (PMC)
- Stay overnight in Puerto Varas, which is 45 minutes from the Puerto Montt airport
- The next day, take a 35-minute commercial flight from Puerto Montt to Chaitén
- Ride in an Eleven vehicle to Rio Yelcho Lodge, about an hour from Chaitén (included in your stay)
